Enhanced Definition TV

Enhanced Definition is the ability to display 480p source material. EDTV is an Enhanced Definition TV set that can play 480p material and sometimes convert 480i to 480p.

EDTV has been a cost-effective alternative to a full blown HDTV, but these days few manufactures make an EDTV anymore as HDTV is more popular and costs about as much to make.
