Digital TV
Digital TV refers to any TV capable of enhanced definition. There are two main types of digital TVs - EDTV and HDTV.
Enhanced Definition TV (EDTV) is capable of displaying a picture at the enhanced 480p. This effectively doubles the scan lines from a standard NTSC broadcast (standard TV image), giving a crisper, brighter picture.
What's usually meant by digital TV is HDTV. High Definition is also digital TV because it's capable of displaying pictures at 480p and greater. But 480p is the minimum digital TV.
Satellite television has also come a long way with its new digital enhancements. For more information, visit our friends at Satellite Buying.
