Sony Speakers

Sony is a media industry giant that makes some of the best TVs. But Sony speakers should raise some skepticism. When a media giant like Sony manufactures speakers, you have to wonder if they can put the same kind of emphasis on details as a dedicated speaker manufacturer who sells a product in the same price range.

Obviously they do not. Sony speakers' product line is aimed at a lower cost and shouldn't be considered if you're planning to spend at or even near $1000 on a set. There are just too many good speaker brands out there making speakers close to home and at very reasonable prices to recommend a Sony speaker.
Except for only the most casual audio enthusiast buying low-budget equipment, most of Sony's audio gear outside the ES line should be suspect and therefore well auditioned before quality is assumed.

To the credit of Sony's speakers, they have consistently tried to push the development envelope with new and interesting technologies. Sony speakers were early to adopt polypropylene models and some that featured different shapes like the flat diaphragm.
