Hsu Research is a California based speaker manufacturer that has been making award winning subwoofers since 1991. The VTF-3 has gained recognition in hi-fi press magazines as one of the finest subs priced under $1000. Their complete line includes a series of powered subs with 8", 10" to 12" drivers all recognized for quality far in advance of their reasonable prices.

New for 2005 is the Hsu Research's foray in the 5.1 systems market. The Ventriloquist VT-12.

Obviously the strongest point of this system, priced under $1K, is the STF-2 subwoofer included in the kit. Probably the best sub ever included in a complete 5.1 system in this price range. The STF-2 has a 10" down firing driver and packs 200 watts of power.
