Audio Calibration
A lot of money can be spent on a professional audio calibration, but for most people that's just not practical. You can conduct your own home theater calibration for a minimal investment of about $60. You'll need the Avia Guide to Home Theater (or similar DVD) and an SPL meter from Radio Shack.A calibration should be performed a couple of times a year or anytime new equipment is introduced into your home theater system. The Avia DVD has a variety of tests you can perform some of which can be found on THX certified movie DVDs. The basic tests you'll need to perform on your tome theater's audio system include the following.
Speaker Volume
SPL Meters
Frequency Sweeps
