Honestly now, does the similarity between these two logos confuse you?

This was an interesting tidbit for all music fans. The Beatles formed their own record label named Apple back in the 60s and when Steve Jobs formed Apple Computers in the late 70s. A struggle between the two companies ensued the day George Harrison saw an Apple Computers ad in a magazine.

The most recent lawsuit from Apple Corps, the record label founded by the Beatles, is a breach of a trademark agreement between the two companies made in 1991. Apple Computers agreed way back then to stay out of the music business and the two Apples would coexist peacefully. Then Apple Computers got into music with iTunes using the Apple logo. The judge just struck it down deciding that the Apple Computer's Apple logo was used in conjunction with the iTunes store, not the music sold in it.

It's all quite silly. These kinds of lawsuits are frivolous and it's probably best that Apple Corps lost. Who cares? Does anyone honestly think that there is going to be some consumer confusion between Apple Corp the record label and Apple Computers because iTunes is a music store? And how exactly is this confusion going to cost Apple Corps money? I just don't think Apple Corps has a legitimate case on their hands.
